Start with the space, not the product
The same slab can need a different build depending on where it is and how it's used. That's why we use both Simiron polyurea and epoxy, and choose per floor rather than putting one product on everything.
Garages
A garage floor deals with vehicle tires, winter road salt, oil and dropped tools. We look at slab condition, cracks and control joints, and any previous coating that has to be ground off before anything new goes down.
Basements and other protected interiors
Basements are out of the sun and weather, but moisture coming through the slab matters. We check for it during the estimate. Protected interiors are also where finishes such as metallic can be considered.
Patios, pool decks, driveways and walkways
Outdoor concrete faces direct sun, rain and Missouri freeze-thaw cycles, and people walk on it wet. For these areas we use a UV-stable topcoat and choose a texture that matches how the surface is used — bare feet around a pool are different from shoes on a covered patio or tires on a driveway.
If outdoor concrete is already flaking, it can usually be repaired and coated. If a slab is structurally failing, we'll tell you before quoting.
Commercial floors
For shops, hangars, kennels, showrooms and warehouses, downtime and use drive the decision. We talk through traffic, cleaning, chemicals on the floor and when the space can be closed, then plan the work around your schedule.
How to get ready for an estimate
It helps if you can tell us:
- Rough size of the area, if you know it
- Whether it's indoors, covered or fully outdoors
- Any old coating, paint, cracks, flaking or damp spots
- The look you like, or that you'd like help choosing
- When you'd like the work done
