Prep decides lifespan, not the label on the bucket
Every failed floor coating we grind off falls into the same handful of causes, and the product itself is rarely one of them. The coating failed because the concrete was never opened up mechanically, because moisture was never tested, or because a previous coating was painted over instead of removed.
When a slab is diamond ground to a proper profile, the coating keys into the concrete. That bond is what carries a floor through a decade of hot tires and winter salt.
- Acid etching instead of diamond grinding — the most common cause of early peeling
- Coating over old paint or a failed epoxy kit
- Ignoring moisture vapor coming up through the slab
- Thin single-coat systems with no topcoat protecting the chip layer
- Coating a slab in the wrong temperature or humidity window
What we warranty
Our residential installs carry a lifetime warranty against peeling and delamination. That's a statement about prep as much as product — we can only offer it because every slab gets ground, repaired and tested before coating.
Normal wear like scratching from dragged metal, or discoloration from a chemical left to sit for days, isn't the same as coating failure. A coated floor is tough, not indestructible.
Caring for a coated floor in the Ozarks
Maintenance is genuinely minimal, which is most of the point. There's no waxing, sealing or resealing schedule.
- Sweep or dust mop as needed; the surface releases dirt instead of holding it
- Mop with warm water and a mild cleaner — skip anything acidic or citrus-based
- Rinse road salt and brine off in winter so it doesn't sit on the surface for months
- Use pads under jack stands and floor jacks to spread point loads
- Wipe up fuel, brake fluid and battery acid promptly rather than letting them sit for days
Signs a floor needs attention
A healthy coated floor shouldn't change much. If you see edges lifting, bubbling, a chalky surface haze, or a section that has gone soft or tacky, call us and we'll look at it. Catching a small delamination early usually means a spot repair rather than a re-coat.
