Finish, system and space are three different choices
People often mix these up, so it helps to separate them. The space is where the coating goes — a garage, basement, patio, driveway or commercial floor. The system is the build underneath: a Simiron polyurea or epoxy base coat and a protective topcoat. The finish is the look on top: decorative flake, solid color or metallic.
You don't need to know the chemistry to request a quote. Tell us the space and the look you like, and we recommend the system after we've seen the slab.
Decorative flake
Decorative flake is a chip broadcast into the base coat and sealed under a clear topcoat. It's the finish most of our garage photos show. The texture and color variation help disguise dirt and imperfections in the slab, which is why it's popular for garages and other hard-working floors.
Solid color
Solid color is a clean, uniform finish. It suits shops, kennels and utility spaces where you want an even surface that's easy to look across and wash down. Because there's no flake pattern, dirt and slab texture show more than on a flake floor.
Metallic
Metallic is a feature finish we offer for suitable protected interiors such as basements and showrooms. Every metallic floor looks different, so ask to see examples and talk through the look you want during the estimate. It isn't the right choice for every slab or every space, and we'll tell you if it isn't for yours.
Questions to answer before your estimate
A few honest answers make the recommendation much easier:
- How is the space used — parking, a workshop, a living area, a business?
- Do you want the floor to hide dirt, or do you prefer a clean single color?
- Is the area indoors, covered, or open to sun and weather?
- Is there an old coating, paint or sealer on the slab now?
- Any cracks, pitting or damp spots you've noticed?
